History:

• Riga’s water supply dates back over 400 years - the system began in 1620.

• SIA “Rīgas ūdens” was founded on 24 September 1991.

Our work:

• We draw water from six locations, using both surface and underground sources.
  Surface water comes from the Daugava River.
  Underground water comes from wells in Baltezers, Remberģi, and Zaķumuiža.

• Wastewater is treated at the “Daugavgrīva” Biological Treatment Plant.

Our people:

• We have 21 departments and around 760 employees. 

• SIA “Rīgas ūdeni” is managed by a management board:
  Chairman – Krišjānis Krūmiņš;
  Board members – Normunds Zvaunis and Agnese Ozolkāja

• The company is overseen by the Supervisory board of SIA “Rīgas ūdens”, which consists of three members.
